Set Apart for Service

Acts 13:1-5

One Quality of a Servant in the Lord’s Kingdom is Sincerity.

Sincere servants are Interested in the Work of the Lord’s Kingdom.

~ II Corinthians 11:28              Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches.

Sincere servants are Involved in the Work of the Lord’s Kingdom.

~ I Corinthians 15:58               Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

A Second Quality of a Servant in the Lord’s Kingdom is Spirit-led.

Spirit-led servants Listen to the Holy Spirit.

~ Romans 8:5-7           For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,

Spirit-led servants Submit to the Holy Spirit.

~ James 4:17              Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

A Third Quality of a Servant in the Lord’s Kingdom is Service.

Serve in the area of Giftedness!

~ I Peter 4:10              As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Serve Willingly!

~ Colossians 3:23-24  Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Serve Enthusiastically!

~ Romans 1:16            For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
