Psalm 139:7-10           Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Be Confident in God’s Sovereignty!

Revelation 19:6           Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,  “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

Luke 12:4-5     “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

Courage inspired by faith pleases God!

Romans 11:20            Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;

II Corinthians 5:7         for we walk by faith, not by sight—

Romans 5:1                 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Hebrews 11:6              And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Sermon Outline, May 12, 2019 “A Mother’s Prayer”

A Mother’s Prayer

I Samuel 1-2:11

One Essential of Effective Prayer is Integrity!

Integrity is an essential element for effective prayer.

James 5:16     Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

One of the hindrances of effective prayer is sin!

Psalm 66:18    If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear;

A Second Essential of Effective Prayer is Fervency!

Sincerity is a mark of Fervent Prayer.

James 5:16     Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Persistence is a mark of Fervent Prayer.

Ephesians 6:18            With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

I Thessalonians 4:17   Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

A Third Essential of Effective Prayer is Faith!

Pray in faith by Praying Specifically.

Mark 11:24  Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

I John 5:14-15            14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Pray in faith by Trusting in the Lord.

Hebrews 4:16              Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Matthew 7:7    Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Sermon Outline, Rahab’s Red Rope, May 5, 2019

Rahab’s Red Rope

Joshua 2, 6:17, 22, 23

Grip God’s Existence!

Acknowledge God’s Person.

Hebrews 11:6  And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who

comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who

seek Him.

Psalm 14:1  The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”  They are

corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;  There is no one who does

good.

Acknowledge God’s Omnipresence!

Hebrews 4:13  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but

all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom

we have to do.

II Chronicles 16:9   For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the

earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You

have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.”

I John 5:14-15  14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we

ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He

hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we

have asked from Him.

Grip God’s Sovereignty!

Trust God’s Control!

Revelation 4:2  Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was

standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne.

Trust God’s Goodness!

Romans 8:28  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:32   He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us

all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Grip God’s Power!

Trust God’s ability to Save!

Mark 16:16  He who has believed and has been baptized shall be

saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Acts 3:19  Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away,

in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

Romans 10:9  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe

in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

Mark 16:16  He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but

he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Acts 2:38  Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the

name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the

gift of the Holy Spirit.

I Peter 3:21  Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal

of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God [a]for a good conscience—through

the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

II Thessalonians 1:8-9 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God

and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Trust God’s ability to Honor Faith!

                         Psalm 1:1  How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the

wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

Psalm 1:6  For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the

wicked will perish.

Hebrews 11:39  And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did

not receive what was promised,
