Christmas Reveals God’s Provision

Luke 2:1-20

Christmas reveals God’s Greatest Provision.

The Greatest Need of Mankind is Forgiveness!

~ Isaiah 53:5-6            But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

~ Matthew 1:21           She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

~ John 1:29                  The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

~ Acts 4:12                   And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

~ John 14:6                 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

The Greatest Provision of God is Salvation!

~ Luke 19:10               For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

~ John 3:16-17            “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Christmas reveals God’s Abundant Provision.

God’s Abundant Provision brings Peace!

~ Romans 5:1              Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

~ Romans 12:18          If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

God’s Abundant Provision brings Joy!

~ Philippians 4:4         Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

~ Nehemiah 4:10        Thus in Judah it was said,

“The strength of the burden bearers is failing,
Yet there is much rubbish;
And we ourselves are unable
To rebuild the wall.”

Christmas reveals God’s Universal Provision.

God’s Universal Provision includes All People!

~ I Timothy 2:3-4        This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

~ Titus 2:11     For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

~ II Peter 3:9   The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

God’s Universal Provision proclaims Good News!

~ Romans 1:16             For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
