Baptized into Christ

~ I Peter 1:18-19         knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

~ Acts 22:16                Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’

Baptism is essential for a Good Conscience.

~ I Peter 3:21               Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

~ Hebrews 10:22          let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Baptism is essential for the Work of the Holy Spirit.

~ Titus 3:5                   He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

~ II Corinthians 5:17   Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

The Holy Spirit empowers our walk with Jesus Christ.

~ Philippians 1:6         For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

~ Philippians 2:13       for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

~ Romans 8:13            for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Baptism is essential for Union with Christ.

Baptism unites us with Christ.

~ Romans 6:3-4           Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

~ Romans 6:11            Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Baptism clothes us in Christ!

~ Galatians 3:27          For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

~ Romans 8:1              Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
