Basis for Good News
I Corinthians 15:1-4
The Gospel Message consists of Truth!
Truth One: Jesus died for our sins.
~ Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
Truth Two: Jesus was buried.
~ Isaiah 53:9 His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
Truth Three: Jesus arose from the dead.
~ Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
~ I Corinthians 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
The Gospel Message saves the Sinner.
Truth One: The Gospel of Jesus Christ saves!
~ Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
~ Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Truth Two: Only the Gospel of Jesus saves!
~ John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
~ Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
~ Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
The Gospel Message secures our relationship with God.
The Gospel places us in a secure relationship with God, the Father.
~ Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
~ I John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
~ Romans 8:31-34 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
~ Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Condition of this secure relationship depends on our faith.
~ Matthew 24:13 But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
