Accept One Another for the Sake of Truth!

Stand together in Truth!

  • Bible

~ II Timothy 3:16       All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

~ II Peter 1:20-21        But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

~ John 10:35                If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

~ John 17:17               Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

~ Isaiah 40:8               The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

~ Psalm 119:11           Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.

Stand together for Truth!

~ II Timothy 3:16       All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

~ John 14:6     Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

~ I Corinthians 6:9-10             Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

~ Galatians 5:19-21     Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

~ Ephesians 5:5            For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Sermon Outline, May 6, 2018, “Pray for One Another”

Pray for One Another

Pray with Character!

Character prays with Humility!

~ Psalm 121:1             I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?

~ II Corinthians 5:21   He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

~ Romans 8:33-34       Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Character prays with Confession!

~ I John 1:9     If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Pray with Compassion!

Compassion prays for those Physically Sick.

~ James 5:14   Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Compassion prays for those Spiritually Sick.

~ Hebrews 10:26         For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

~ Hebrews 6:4-6         For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

~ Galatians 5:4            You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

~ Matthew 13:20-22    The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22 And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Pray with Confidence!

Pray with Confidence in God’s Presence!

~ Psalm 139:7-10        Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Pray with Confidence in God’s Power.

~ Matthew 7:7             Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

~ I John 5:14-15          This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Pray with Confidence in God’s Sovereignty.

~ I Timothy 6:15          which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
