Changing Hearts

Luke 8:26-56

II Corinthians 5:17

A Changed Heart takes the Step of Faith.

Faith seeks Jesus.

~ II Chronicles 20:3    Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the LORD and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

~ Matthew 7:7             Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

~ James 4:8     Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Faith overcomes Obstacles.

~ I John 5:4, 5             For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

~ Genesis 18:14          Is anything too difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.

~ Numbers 11:23        The Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.”

~ Jeremiah 32:17        ‘Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,

~ Luke 1:37     For nothing will be impossible with God.

~ Philippians 4:13       I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

A Changed Heart results from Jesus’ Power.

Jesus’ Authority commands Change.

~ John 5:28, 29            Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29 and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Jesus’ Ability creates Change.

~ II Corinthians 5:17   Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

A Changed Heart Honors Jesus!

A Changed Heart gives Jesus the Credit.

~ Romans 6:4              Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

A Changed Heart points people to Jesus.

~ Romans 12:2             And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
