Exalt the Person of Christ
Exalt Christ with Purity.
Be Sexually Pure in Thought.
~ Proverbs 4:23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
~ Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully.
~ Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
~ Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
~ Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” But his heart is not with you.
Be Sexually Pure in Deed.
~ I Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
~ Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Exalt Christ with Conversation.
Exalt Christ in conversation with Truth.
~ John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
~ Ephesians 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
~ Ephesians 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
Exalt Christ in conversation with Self-Control.
~ James 1:19-20 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
Exalt Christ with Labor.
Labor to provide for your Family.
~ I Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
~ Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Labor to provide for Others.
~ Matthew 26:11 For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me.
~ Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”
Exalt Christ with Love.
Christ’s love expresses Kindness.
~ I Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
Christ’s love expresses Forgiveness.
~ Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
