Exalt Christ’s Gift

Ephesians 4:1-16

Exercise Christ’s Gift with Humility.

Humility honors Unity.

~ Philippians 2:2          make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.


Humility honors Others.

~ Philippians 2:4         do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

~ Romans 12:10          Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;

~ I Peter 4:10              As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.



Exercise Christ’s Gift with Affection.

Love the Work of Christ.

~ Mark 12:30              and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.


Love the Person of Christ.

~ Ephesians 2:10          For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.



Exercise Christ’s Gift with Purpose.

Purpose One: Equip the Saints.

~ II Timothy 2:2         The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.


Purpose Two: Mature the Saints.

~ I Peter 2:2                 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

~ II Peter 3:18              but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
