Sermon, February 5, 2017, “Vibrant”

                                                         Vibrant

Revelation 3:1-6

A Vibrant Church is Sensitive.

~ Be Sensitive to our Spiritual Condition as a Church.

~ Luke 8:17     For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.

 

~ Be Sensitive to our Spiritual Condition as an Individual Christian.

~ I Corinthians 11:28  But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

 

 

A Vibrant Church is Spirit Led.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

~ Ephesians 5:18                      And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

~ Ephesians 4:30                     Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

~ I Thessalonians 5:19           Do not quench the Spirit;

 

Be obedient to the Holy Spirit.

~ Galatians 5:16          But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

~ Romans 8:14            For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

 

 

A Vibrant Church is Diligent.

Be diligent to Implement God’s Vision.

~ Matthew 28:19        Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

~ Matthew 28:20         teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

~ Galatians 6:10           So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

~ Matthew 5:14          You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

 

Be diligent to be Faithful to God’s Word.

~ Matthew 4:4            But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

~ II Timothy 4:3-4       For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
