Fall News for Senior Adults
It’s hard to imagine the summer is over and fall will soon appear. With that happening, our fall trip is just a little over a month away. The trip this year is to Savannah and Charleston. We have had a good response to this trip and it is full at this time, but there are always possible cancellations that may occur and seats opening up. If you would be interested in standing by to fill those spaces if they become available, just call the church and tell them you want to be on stand by for the trip. It’s not too late, however, to sign up for our September 22 day trip to My Old Kentucky Home State Park at Bardstown. We will be leaving the church at 9 am and the cost is $15.00 plus lunch. This will be the last official day trip for the year so you will want to join us for this grand time together as we appreciate the beauty and history of our state.
This month our BWAC monthly meeting will give way to our quarterly In Touch ministry luncheon for widows/widowers or otherwise singles. This will be held at 12 pm on September 15 in the Fellowship Hall. We will be discussing how the Barnabas ministry has helped several and again offer it to those who need help with minor repairs or fix ups around the house, etc. Along with that, Jan Hill will be here playing her harp so I know our older widows and singles will all want to be in attendance. Four Sunday school classes will be putting the meal on for this event, and they will be invited to join us for the meal.
We currently have several opportunities for our Senior Adults to become involved in a deeper fellowship here at the church. Our monthly BWAC meeting, our day trips, fall trip, mid-week Bible Study, and Sunday Evening worship service are among them. If you haven’t joined in this deeper and richer fellowship why not use this fall season to do it and enjoy the times we can spend together in Christian love and encouragement. We hope you will.
