Sermon Outline, September 4, 2016, “Playing Strong)
I Corinthians 12:12-26
Playing strong requires a good coach.
~ I Corinthians 12:13 “. . . we were all given the one Spirit to drink.”
~ John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Playing strong requires each of us to play our position.
~ I Corinthians 12:18 “But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.”
~ I Corinthians 12:27-31 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.”
Playing strong requires we all play together.
~ I Corinthians 12:24 “. . . But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it . . .”
