Role of the Holy Spirit with Spiritual Gifts – Ephesians 4:11-16
Everyone loves to receive gifts. There is always excitement in opening the package to see what is in there. We are ready to thank the giver. So, in the scriptures Peter tells us in Acts 2:38 that following our obedience to the command to be baptized, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Usually, at first we do not completely understand all that means, but in the course of time it begins to mean more and more to us. You see, this gift brings comfort, joy, and added blessing to each new life. Christ promised this gift to His disciples, and us as well. When He left them to return to His father, He said that the Spirit would come and comfort them and provide leadership in the establishment of His church.
As time moves on, we realize that more than comfort is involved. The Holy Spirit not only helps us during trials and discouragement but also helps us to understand more scripture! What a wonderful blessing this is. Stop and thank God everyday for His Spirit.
The early church was filled with many believers and we are told that God adds to His church daily! Personally, I know from experience how I am helped to know His word and to explain it as often as possible. You can to!
As a member of Tates Creek you are a person who should try and use this gift to help you do certain tasks for your church. You will be blessed because of this and will certainly be a blessing to others.
Without the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, our church would not be considered a successful church. Pray that all of us will be used by the Holy Spirit so that we can feel that we are part of the success.
