Updates and Insights from Tates Creek Christian Church

Aly Thompson is Making a Difference

Inspired by her mom’s dedication to teaching her and her siblings Aly Thompson started serving, in a variety of ways, in the Elementary Ministry as a high school student. Now she is a consistent small group Sunday School leader for the Kindergarten and 1st grade girls. She also recently joined the ministry team and led the entire worship for one Sunday with other faithful volunteers and college friends.
As a college student, Aly has chosen to study early childhood education. She loves kids in general, but the happiness and innocence of children make her want to be a better person. It warms her heart when they tell her she is loved. She knows that serving children benefits both the server and the served. She has learned that each child thinks and acts differently, some kids talk and some don’t. Aly loves building a friendship with the girls she serves through teaching. So what advice does this college student have for the rest of the church body?

“Always listen to what they have to say. It makes them feel important and loved and they get a sense of security in you being their leader. The giggles, the smiles, and the sweet comments are all reminders that God loves His children so much. He is working through them, as well as me!”
Aly Thompson

Thank you, Aly, for allowing God to mold and shape you as you serve His precious children! I am so glad that you are using your time wisely to make a difference in the lives of children!
